I have been coming here for a long time. It is one of my favorite buffets in town. Yeah the building is run down, and the bathrooms suck, and the staff is a little weird, but the food is always solid and there are plenty of options. Prices are very fair for these days, and there is a fish pond, if that is your thing…

If you’re looking for the best Chinese cuisine in Fargo, you should probably move on. However, if you’re looking for the best-priced, widest-ranged, best-tasting Chinese BUFFET in Fargo, then look no further!
While everything is self-serve, the staff are still quite attentive and remove plates from tables regularly. The cleanliness isn’t noticeably great, and the decor seems to be somewhat general and outdated, but the food is EXCELLENT (especially when fresh).
They have the standard fair of large-noodle lo mein, and somewhat generic egg rolls, but they have some unique specialties (like the lobster/pork rolls), and they make the BEST pepper steak w/onions that I’ve ever had! Get a fresh order of that, some white rice and you’ll see what I mean.
They have a pretty wide range of appetizer-type dishes, fried and non-fried, and even a decent salad bar (although, why anyone ever goes to a buffet for salad beats me).
But, of course, one of the best parts of this place is their price. When I was going to college there, lunch was around 6 bucks, and even less with a student ID. I didn’t often go during dinner hours, but I’m pretty sure it still came in under 10 bucks.
It’s obviously more expensive to buy individual entrees, but even then, it’s comparably cheaper than a lot of other places, and you get guaranteed-fresh dishes. TOTALLY worth the extra pay!
If you’re going through Fargo, and you’re looking for better-than-average buffet food, you HAVE to go to King House!
